Using blockchain technology to enhance the world of charity and philanthropy

Our Mission

This NFT project creates a new and more efficient way for the crypto community to give back to those in need. Our focus is to help those who are experiencing homelessness in the Los Angeles area. We hope to show the world that NFTs can be more than a monetary investment, but a vehicle for social change.


To accomplish this we have partnered with Uncle Dave's Housing and Friends Helping Friends L.A. (FHFLA), both are transitional housing organizations. Through these partnerships we are creating an NFT sale where the proceeds will be directed straight into the organizations verified wallet.


In the future we plan to partner with additional shelters, and continue to grow our philanthropic vision.



Partnership Process

FHFLA is 501(C)(3) that has graciously helped the homeless community transition back into normal life. The organization has been doing this over 20 years, and this minting sale will allow them to expand their operations so they may accommodate more people.


Through this partnership we will ask the residents of FHFLA if they would like to participate in the project. 

For the members who agree, we are creating an impactful image of them that will be turned into an NFT. Their NFT is meant to tell their story and future aspirations. In addition to raising money for FHFLA, our goal is also to create a community of crypto-enthusiasts who cheer on and motivate these folks.

NFTs

SheltersOnTheBlock is creating a community around helping those who are experiencing homelessness. We are gathering a community that encourages individuals to become more involved and understanding. This project aims to capture the hearts and empathy of the crypto community by sharing personal stories of those experiencing homelessness.


We are making our NFTs come to life by giving each image a unique story. Our team is accomplishing this by interviewing each participant so they have the opportunity to share their struggles, passions, and future aspirations. Our team is also interviewing the amazing and selfless individuals who make these organizations a reality. 


Anyone can contribute to our cause by promoting us on social media platforms such as Instagram, Discord, and Twitter. The NFTs will be shared on these platforms so contributors can have an opportunity to learn about the individuals behind the NFTs. Biographies of individuals in the shelter will be found on our social media platforms.



Utility 

Our project allows holders to make a positive impact towards the homeless crisis happening in Los Angeles. 50% of the funds from the minitng will go directly to our current partnering shelter. Through this, you help address the homelessness crisis as this will allow them to expand their capacity and help more people.


The other 50% of the funds will go to the resident of the shelter who we made an NFT for. This will serve two purposes. Firstly, providing financial assistance for someone's noble journey back into mainstream life. Secondly, it will provide us the ability to give this underserved community a crypto education as we will give each member of the shelter their own crypto wallet and teach them how to use it.


Through this we hope to achieve one of crypto’s mission of serving the unbanked. In the future to demonstrate progress, SheltersOnTheBlock will provide each NFT holder with exclusive quarterly airdrops, to show how their money was put to good use and how the person they sponsored is doing.
 

Road Map

The ultimate goal of this project is to spread awareness about the issues of homelessness and help improve the living conditions, resources, and lifestyles of those experiencing homelessness
